Well, well, well. A certain slider QWERTY prototype device shows up in China with design cues very reminiscent of the MacBook Pro.

This device appeared in tech blogs in June and was purported thought to be a Nokia device running on Symbian^3. The device could running the MeeGo OS. Nokia did say that they were releasing milestone device running MeeGo by the end of this year. In the screen shots, courtesy of Engadget, this device is likely to be the Nokia N9. The exact technical specifications of the phone has not been elucidated.

Reliable reports have confirmed that this prototype is the real deal from Nokia and the final version will hit the retail stores in December 2010.

From the screen shots, this looks like a quality device with a physical keyboard that looks the business.

One can’t escape the device’s resemblance to that of a shrunken MacBook Pro and that ain’t a bad thing.
