CSL, a Malaysian manufacturer of mobile devices has released the CSL Droid Pad Spice Mi700.

The Droid Pad is a 7 inch tablet device running on Android 2.2 and comes with a very respectable price tag of RM 1560 ( 360 euros).

The device has a similar form factor with the other slate form factor devices out there. There are four capacitative keys ( typical of most Android tablets ) in the region of the black bezel below the screen.

The devices runs on a 600MHz Qualcomm processor with 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. There is a microSD expansion slot and a SIM card clot with a front facing camera and a rear 3MP camera(yes, it makes phone and video calls as well). Bluetooth and GPS radios are included as standard.

Another crucial factor is the inclusion of the Android Market making this a complete Google device. However, there is no indication as to whether there is support for upgrades to the upcoming Android 3.0. This remains to be seen.

All in all, it is a decent package.
