Another gadget prototype leak has happened and this time, the object of interest is the PSP Phone by Sony Ericsson.

The device has a similar form factor as the PSP Go and is reported to be running on Android version 3.0(Gingerbread).The device is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655,512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. There is a multitouch trackpad in the center and is flanked by the standard PSP Go controls.

The device does not appear to employ Sony Ericsson’s custom UI (Timescape) and appears to run on stock Android.

Initial impressions: The device does is basically a PSP Go and is clear that gaming is front and center of this device (it’s a PSP after all!). The form factor, which may be good for gaming, does not appear to have the ingredients of an iconic device. In summary, it looks alright and does not have that wow factor. Again, it could be a prototype device and judgement is always best made when the official announcement is made. The prospect of a Google Gaming device is nonetheless, exciting. The device is more likely to appear in early 2011 but rumours have it that may come in the later part of 2010. Watch this space.
